If preferences for black and Hispanic applicants are abolished, expect a backlash against admissions boosts for children of alumni and donors.
I hope they do away with "legacy" admissions as well. Why should anyone, because their Daddy has money or attended a particular college, be placed ahead of a person that has worked hard to educate themselves? People should be admitted on the merits of their ability and effort to expand that ability. Color and/or economic status should not be given preference to ability. If the affirmative action program falls by the wayside, it bothers me not, that the entitled will suffer on account of it.
