people get hurt putting out fires started by douchebags who think they know better than anyone. burning protected old growth rangeland means converting a lot of it to worthless invasive cheatgrass and destroying the native mixture's seed bank. (what is left from 150 years of overgrazing... that is why some areas are protected as "arks" that these mormons believe they have dominion over)

That is why it is a game refuge... the last vestiges of protection from these assholes.
