Any idea what's with RGLD? ==============================================================
Hi Fred, This may be the answer to your your question....
I'm not party to the Weiss newsletter but the poor price action of GLG yesterday (-$1.25 at the low) and RLGD yesterday and today lead me to believe his recs carry a lot of weight.
Fwiw, I was spread short GLG yesterday vs long GG and I was having trouble understanding why GLG was so weak on a day that most of my miners were primarily green.
Clearly, Weiss' rec worked strongly in my favor and taught me not to look a gift Glamis in the mouth.... <GG> ==============================================================
Weiss impact on gold stocks
Author: Jim Sinclair September 9th, 2003
Q: Don't you think RGLD and GLG were negatively impacted by the Weiss newsletter to sell and buy GG and CBJ
A: Sure RGLD and GLG were affected by the recommendation. But how about exercising some professionalism to sell TA right and to buy TA right, not simply to bomb in and to bomb out?
I did not criticize either the buy or sell recommendations. Many people have done extremely well in both situations. I stand for reasoned professionalism to avoid creating an unwanted detrimental effect on the Community (those who see significant further potential in RGLD and GLG) and a positive effect on our adversaries.
I knew the recommendation was made as many came to me for guidance. I believe both situations could have been liquidated at better prices and in a more professional manner.
You know how I would have advised liquidating these stocks. Liquidation in this environment is best along the overbought side of the simple up channel or on the PUT - assuming that gold will make its run to and above $400 quite shortly.
I am not sure what is accomplished by changing horses now. I would not recommend that any of you buy against the sale but that’s me and not you.
