Quote Quantum computers will be here shortly, /quote What exactly is ‘shortly’? I just read a paper on LinkedIn on this very subject and 10 years is the closest timeline. From my recall it goes something like this, but not exact by any stretch. So far you need data functions 2 by the power of 50 times another multiple for a base on storage locations. Then each kernel that provides a function is still unable to store a result while appearing in two or more locations simultaneously. Now, keep in mind I read it yesterday and don’t have the link but believe me, it’s worth googling and reading for yourself. If they claim to be building this code or that they are even preparing for it it’s total confabulation. IMO The data storage devices need to be at a tiny fraction above absolute zero and even that is not going to happen for a very long time. Now what’s real is development of a time machine! When does it need to be completed by? Doesn’t really matter! :)
