Very true. That was the first mention that I read about a major manufacturer stating intentions to ditch diesel for EV. That will be a tough row to hoe in the US. Although there appears to be a war on diesel engines, the diesel engine will be very hard to replace. As of now, I envision a diesel electric hybrid, similar to large haul trucks, large marine, and locomotives. The internal combustion engine is very versatile but is only efficient in a very narrow load and RPM range-thats were electric comes in, when we are operating outside the engines ability to be efficient.
