AT&T announced they were going to acquire Time Warner on October 22, 2016. The deal is still not done. My guess is that they are working out the details of the merger. The filings will get done but the details of the merger will take longer and that is likely what they are focused on. The filings can be done pretty quickly but you can only do one thing at a time.
