NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Israel Makov, president and chief executive of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., (TEVA) will step down in the first quarter, according to Ynet, the online edition of the Israeli daily Yediot Achronot. Without citing sources, the paper reported that Makov, 67, would be succeeded by Shlomo Yanai, 54, chief executive of the agrichemicals producer Makhteshim Agan. Teva is expected to announce the changes to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange today, the paper reported. Makov was named president and CEO of Teva, the Jerusalem drugmaker, in April 2002. Teva shares recently were down about 3.5% on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
