A reason given for the 4 billion authorized was to enable acquisitions of profitable companies. They harbour the hope that there are some profitable companies around that are so bewildered as to want to sacrifice their own prospective futures to this bunch of losers. If you can't achieve success by your own efforts then try to free load on someone else's.
