Company to Capitalize on Cross-Selling Opportunities
CARENCRO, La., Oct. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- OMNI ENERGY SERVICES CORP. (Nasdaq: OMNI - News) announced today that because of increased customer demand for its specialized equipment rental packages and environmental cleaning services in the Rocky Mountain region of the United States, OMNI is now expanding these services into that region. OMNI has agreed to lease approximately 8,000 square feet of office and warehouse space in Rock Springs, Wyoming and expects to commence operations in this region during the fourth quarter of 2006. Additionally, OMNI said that with the anticipated completion of the acquisition of Rig Tools, Inc. in the fourth quarter, it will also expand the rental equipment operations of Rig Tools into this same Rocky Mountain region.
Currently, OMNI's rental equipment packages, offered through its Preheat business unit, and its environmental cleaning services, offered through its Trussco business unit, have been marketed primarily to the offshore market in the Gulf of Mexico. Equipment rental packages offered by Rig Tools historically have been marketed to land based drilling contractors in Louisiana and Texas. OMNI's seismic drilling services business unit previously operated in the Rocky Mountain region with equipment and personnel staged from its facility based in Louisiana.
Commenting on the expansion into the Rocky Mountain region, James C. Eckert, OMNI's Chief Executive Officer, said, "Execution of our business strategy to capitalize on various cross-selling opportunities continues to catapult our core businesses into strategic organic expansions. This most recent expansion, being driven by increased customer demand, is a direct reflection of the quality of the rental equipment and specialized services we offer our customers. OMNI continues to grow as an integrated oilfield service company. With this expansion into Wyoming and the development of the strategic opportunities directly related to this organic growth, management believes that execution of its business model will continue to translate into increased shareholder value."
