Oddly enough... After reading an article stating that a handful of women applied for the Navy SEALS (only one of the most prominent special task groups ever), I saw a *lot* of negative feedback concerning women and their *ahem* ability to perform in such harsh conditions. From whom? Well you guess it.

Men. (Please don't take offense.)

...and well... I won't lie. It hurt to see some women commenters say similar things too.

I am somewhat tempted to throw this list at some of the worst offenders. Some of the comments felt like
such a slap to the face, especially from those who share my sex. I'm a 22 year old Navy brat who has two Retired Chief Petty Officers as parents. My mom was part of the first few waves that had female Aviation structural mechanics in the field. She's partly the reason why I was inspired enough to attempt joining the Navy myself as an Officer- possibly the first in my family if I succeed.

Thank you so much for making this list. It's such an awesome feeling knowing how many women in history were complete and utter badasses.

Gotta say your Ray Starmann article reads like ultra-conservative, hyper-misogynist, Trump-fevered dribble.

And how much should a reader believe of it? See

What the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Must Tell the Nation

An article reporting the fiery resignation speech of Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Joseph Dunford was just someone's fanciful political invention.
[...]
On 9 April 2016, the web site US Defense Watch published an article attributed to Ray Starmann, reporting the
supposed text of a speech General Dunford delivered announcing his resignation as chairman of the JCS. It began:

So much for your author's credibility rating.
