Lots of information is missing in this case imho. the washingont post isn't known for telling the whole true story. Sounds like to me he was an asset. why do they want him dead, seems like he knows too much.

Jill Carroll was one of those taken as I recall it was like she was a mind control victim remember? I think it was a kidnappening by special forces. Not one lonegunman. I forget the name of the assassin team who we thought was responible at the time. Just my take
