Typically, I trade 1000 share lots. I cannot see how anyone can make a living trading less than that. If a trader can scrape together a bucker each day ( .25 + .15 + .30 + .30 = $1), I figure you are beating almost everyone out there. I have spent no time at all quantifying return on investment, rather I have been consumed with simply coming up with the bucker each day (or trying like hell, anyway).
That is why, getting a single buck out of MMM in a day seems very reasonable to me. In order to meet Zeev's criteria, I would have to make $4.20 (3%) on the trade. I cannot remember the last time that MMM returned that much on a single day! (Maybe Zeev meant 3% - 5% for a trade that runs several days?)
Anyway. I enjoy this work. Very challenging, huh?
