A little confusion here. Are you saying a 3-5% move on invested capital (margin money not counted) or are you saying a 3-5% move on the total position?

Secondly, I was womdering about a new strategy that I have begun using. I call it "Ten Cents A Dance." I choose my entry points with extreme caution because I will only let it go a dime against me, long or short. So far, it seems to be working like a charm. If I am forced to sell or cover, I try again at another level. (This strategy came to me as the only way to avoid the thousand dollar losses that I am sick of.)
