I have a private well and it has been tested thoroughly by the drilling company sent to an independent tester at a cost of around $3K. Any residence impacted near a drilling site was tested to establish a base line in case of any issues or problems. We all have copies of the results. The guy doing the testing said I could bottle my water and sell it, hopefully it stays that way. I know the issues in Dimmock, PA are always used to point out problems in drilling and fracking, but what they don't tell you was that water was like that even before any drilling occurred. Yes it would literally light on fire due to methane not nat gas drilling. I haven't heard of any issues with water problems locally up to now.
