“WHO WE ARE" CEO Gordon Macfie
Gordon Macfie was a co-founder (in 2015) and was the first CFO of Priwen Systems Inc. His role has since expanded. Priwen Systems started developing an industrial wearable, primarily focused on the mining and oil and gas industries and then evolved into other engineering fields including analog and digital music and cryptocurrency, its current focus.
The idea for Priwen came from a stint at Neptune Computer Inc. where he was CFO at the same time as Aaron Wilkins was head of engineering. For a brief period, Neptune (www.getneptune.com) was a leader in the wearables marketplace (pre-Apple!). Its first product, the Pine, was sold through retailers such as Best Buy. Gordon worked on the legal side of the agreement and managed the relationship.
Prior to working with these companies, Gordon was the CFO and COO of TelcoBridges (2004-2012). TelcoBridges is a designer and manufacturer of high-quality, high-density, carrier-grade Media Gateway, Development Platform, and Network Monitoring solutions. TelcoBridges sells its telecommunications products globally.
Prior to TelcoBridges, Gordon held various senior roles with IndustryHub, a software company he co-founded which specialized in supply chain software for mid-sized organizations. He also worked at Novacap Investments, a venture capital fund where he oversaw investments in companies such CI Wireless, InnoMediaLogic, and Chrysalis-ITS. InnoMediaLogic went on to become the Canadian Venture Capital Association’s ‘Deal of the Year’ due to its return on investment for Novacap. Gordon also worked in program control at a division of Unisys where he worked on one of Canada’s largest ever military contracts.
Gordon has also been on the Board of Directors of an affiliate of QuebecTel, which became Telus, as well as the Canadian Venture Capital Association and is also on the Board of Directors of a small document management software company.
Gordon Macfie is a CPA, CMA and has an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario).”
