As much as it pains me to say this, we need to face the reality that 2018 might be a down year.
We might not sign any licensees this year, and that includes WNP.

It's plausible that Mr. Horner's concern over self-combustion has thrown a wrench into CCTI's plans for 2018. My guess is that after rebuilding the test plant, 500-ton shipments of coal from various interested parties will be processed only to sit in piles for months until deemed safe. Each of those 500-ton batches, enough to fill 5 railcars, will likely take 4-8 weeks for our small pilot plant to process. Originally, I couldn't understand why the shipments were so large... until I realized Mr. Horner will probably process them in smaller batches, say 50-tons, with different parameters for longevity testing. The key is dialing in the parameters with an appropriate safety margin for a particular method of travel. Presumably, the dryer piles would have a higher risk but could be safe for rail, while the higher moisture coal would be safe for export on ships.

On the bright side, 2018 should be a great time to buy at fire sale prices.
In the meantime, if CCTI gets several licensees lined up, the first quarter of 2019 should be a definitive time in the history of the company.
So, get ready to play... Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
