In October 27th 2016 Alcaliber became the first company in Spain that has been granted a license for growth, production, manufacturing, import, export, distribution and commercialisation of cannabis and its products for the pharma industry. Since that day, a great amount of the company´s resources are dedicated to develop a business model that helps us to become world leaders of the cannabis market for the pharma industry.

I would venture a guess after finding this that if they acquire this company it has nothing to do with Opium, it's all about Cannabis and whatever intellectual property this company has derived from it. CGC involved in Opium just didn't make any sense to me. I'm sure if they would still operate that side of the business but much more focused on the marijuana side. Bruce has stated previously that the future growth will be more about the pharma side than the rec side.
