The president wants to arm teachers and staff, but research suggests that may do little to prevent shootings.

Detection and prevention has halted many terrorist threats around the world. Every school and more
importantly every teacher and all others involved with the school, as counselors, should be involved.

A combination of hardening measures along with increased and efficient early detection and prevention of threats is likely the best approach.
