Former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg will be interviewed by special counsel Robert Mueller on Thursday, according to multiple reports.

The news was first reported by Charlie Gasparino on the Fox Business Network and confirmed by NBC's Katy Tur.

Nunberg worked as an aide to the Trump campaign until he was fired in 2015 for allegedly breaching a confidentiality agreement.

The interview comes days after Mueller announced an indictment against 13 Russian nationals and three Russian groups for their interference in the 2016 election.

President Trump declared that the indictment proves that his campaign “did nothing wrong,” but the special counsel’s investigation into whether the campaign colluded with Russia is expected to continue for months.

Nunberg admitted last year that he had made up a viral story about then-New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) being sent to pick up McDonald’s for then-candidate Trump to embarrass then-candidate Trump.

Trump seeks $10M from ex-aide in confidentiality suit

Donald Trump is accusing a former campaign aide of breaching a confidentiality agreement and seeking $10 million, The Associated Press reported Wednesday.

Former senior campaign consultant Sam Nunberg, who was fired from the Trump campaign last year, is accused of leaking confidential information to reporters. The presumptive GOP presidential nominee is seeking $10 million in damages, claiming Nunberg violated a nondisclosure agreement.

Nunberg said in court papers that Trump accused him of being a source in a May New York Post story about a public quarrel between former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and spokeswoman Hope Hicks, according to the AP.

Nunberg said he was not the source of the article. He referred to the fight in court papers as being part of an "apparent affair."

He also said in court filings Trump tried to "bully" him to be quiet after he decided to back Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

"Mr. Trump's actions in starting a $10 million arbitration, seeking to silence Mr. Nunberg and have the proceedings sealed, are a cautionary tale of what the American people face if Mr. Trump is elected president," said Andrew Miltenberg, Nunberg's attorney.

Nunberg filed the court documents to block private arbitration proceedings that Trump initiated in May.

In a Wednesday statement, a Trump lawyer said Nunberg was taking the issue public for attention.

“With regard to Mr. Nunberg, this agreement specifically calls for arbitration, and Mr. Nunberg is simply looking for free publicity using categorically false claims," Trump counsel Alan Garten said.

Garten said when nondisclosure agreements are violated, Trump will "enforce them to the full extent of the law."

Trump's campaign fired Nunberg last August for making racially insensitive comments on Facebook. Nunberg had reportedly written offensive social media posts in 2007 and 2008, which included a racial slur against Rev. Al Sharpton's daughter and offensive comments toward President Obama.

In December, Nunberg predicted the billionaire was ultimately doomed and wouldn't perform well in early-voting states such as Iowa and New Hampshire. Trump rejected the claims, and said Nunberg "makes routine calls begging for his job back."
