I didn't have any relatives that I know of involved in the Civil War. My great grandfather had settled in Canada in 1856 and the grandparents on the other side were still milking cows in Denmark.

I grew up in a state that wasn't a state during the civil war, and we certainly didn't have any statues of bearded guys on horseback as a reminder that big brass objects make great pigeon roosts.

The end of the civil war wasn't an abrupt end for some, there are still stragglers wanting to re-visit it to this day.

I am glad that you are fully integrated with the north found northern women superior. LOL
