Wrong. Moving to daily reporting on shorting now beefs up legitimacy, you can follow it through 1week graphs and see the solid impact. Honestly, I could see shorting being banned in the USA the next year years (based on moves the feds have been making.)
In fact, it seems Germany has banned shorting.
