MMEX has no edge in this, and zero benefit from anything proposed in Phase I.

Having worked in refineries, designed process flows, and control systems, and having been an engineering contributor to the most successful EPC's in the world, I can assure you that while a refinery may have been operating in a particular location for decades, units within refineries undergo periodic turn-around, and ongoing modernization.

Control systems are upgraded continually, processes modeled and tweaked, and regular maintenance at the component and unit level are conducted in all of today's refineries.

MMEX has no competitive advantage, and in fact it would suffer operationally for the first year or so, if anything were ever actually built. It takes skill, time, and lots of modeling, simulation, and validation to run even a simple, rudimentary topping unit like what MMEX proposes in Phase I. The skilled teams are relatively rare, and hard to put together to run a unit.

The only "wow" in this are the MMEX proponents and cheerleaders, who have zero understanding of the sector, the technology or associated issues making astonishing claims that have no basis in fact or reality.

As false as you posing that a 40 yr old refinery is state of the art and brand new, lol.
Wow !
