OK, and since the split doesn't happen until the 26th. there won't be any shares traded during that time if no original shares are available to buy and the new shares aren't available until after the 26th? So for 5 days the stock will be halted?

Remember that when someone tries to convince you to buy or sell there is something in it for them. It's not because they are concerned about your investment.
