Please point out the part of my post that suggested they (or any other business) should not be able to close stores or lay off people?
I have no problem with that...
A business is run to make money...it’s not a charity.

I simple was pointing out that it was a bit disingenuous for them to announce these WONDERFUL bonsuses etc,
(which were touted all morning by the GOP as PROOF that the WONDERFUL Tax Cut Act was trickling down to Joe Blow)
while not mentioning
(even to some of their employees...lol...who came to work and found locked doors)
that they were closing 63 stores and laying off thousands of people.

That story came out later...
and I didn’t hear ANY of the GOP mention it at all.

Like I said...these companies are giving out these small bonuses to LOOK good.
It’s all about optics.
And it’s a pitence compared to what they have gained....
Only time will tell how much of this windfall ends up really trickling down to Joe Blow...
I’ll bet not much.
