Using nothing but the 5 minute CCI 144 here are the trades for the day. (No Margin for this purpose)

Long at 38.96
Sell at 40.37
Gain +1.03%

Short at 40.37
Cover at 40.37
Even Whipsaw

Long at 40.37
Sell at 40.30
Loss -.17% Whipsaw

Now Short at 40.30

Once the CCI got to zero it stayed aroung there for 4 hours causing the two whipsaws. I think that maybe just playing it by the rules and taking whipsaws if necessary might be the way to go.
