That's sort of what I was thinking. PS will become fair game, the Rutgers link recently posted already suggest this. King being tied to the patents had Peregrine behind him to claim patent infringement. With him now in the wind and a private citizen he has no way to defend any of that stuff. I've wondered if UTSW was actually happy with the ousting. With so many trying to capitalize on PS UTSW stands a far better chance to make some money from it when it comes to market. The killing of the company they licensed to frees it up without lawsuits that would take decades. Down the road UTSW can say give me a piece of the pie should any part of the PS domain become $$$$.
