Kitt I saw a lot of questions, as a fellow user on the forum perhaps I can answer them the best I can:

Anyways, how do I see if this thing is running and how to turn it off.

The ccminer or cpuminer applications use a text window that shows activity as it mines. To turn it off one would close the window, assuming using a windows PC laptop like me. Logging into HappyPool also has a web page that shows activity. Likewise running the Plus One Coin app also means it is active. To turn it off one would close the program. However once the Plus One Coin app is running you would go to the console and type in the generate command as described in the header of the message forum to start processing. I think you have to do that each time.

Does my wallet have to be on at the same time?

No my cpuminer is processing independent of hacing the wallet open or not.

I'm using ccminer at the moment. It works in command mode and seems to have no user gui. Is the other one more user friendly?

The cpuminer program is a text window for me that has no interface it is run from a command line batch file. It probably looks the same as ccminer. The user friendly interface is HappyPool and that is the same for either program

does one have to have a wallet open to mine,

I am mining with cpuminer still after exiting the PlusOne wallet. The mining rate increased when i exited the Plus One App so both are processing independently adding coins to the wallet when they have results without using the other. Plus One App is used to establish a wallet address only if using HappyPool with ccminer or cpuminer and doesn't seem to be necessary to be open after. It is just a parallel way to mine.

is the plus one runme file hooking up with the plusone online account?

No it links to the plusone online account indirectly when you give the runme file your worker's HappyPool name and password. When you created the HappyPool account you gave it your PlusOne wallet address and this is how it accesses and knows who you are. There isn't any direct cross communication between HappyPool and the Plus One Coin app. And they don't have to be on at the same time. If you are using HappyPool and ccminer then the Plus One App was only used to get a wallet address to aid in configuring HappyPool and doesn't need to be used afterwards.

Do you HAVE to type in the console to begin mining using the plus1 wallet miner app?

That is what I found yes by looking at the debug log files. Just opening the Plus One Coin application doesn't begin mining you have to type in the command as specified in the instructions on the message board header here. If you close the app or reboot your computer it doesn't remember the command and you have to type it in each time you re-run the Plus One Coin application to restart another processing run. It does reach out to resync with the servers so it isn't processing old data that won't result in coins, it checks to get an update.

Is there some manual yet about this program.

I think the message board header covers the Plue One App and it has a list of commands under the help tab. But I did not find any manual otherwise.

When you type in 1000 -1, what does that mean? Does it only go through 1000 tries and stops? What does -1 actually mean?

Perhaps some other people can clarify what the command structure means. All I know at this point is the number 1000 appears to be the iterations it goes through before completing the processing run.

Instructions ought to have examples you can copy paste like generate 100 -1, not <generate>-subject-nblocks times -4. Who the hell can decipher that.

I had to do was read the instructions in the header of the board and it worked, and didn't need to decipher any commands. I just typed it in and got the Plus One Coin application processing without problems.

If I close the wallet, am I still mining? And how does one know this?

If you close the wallet app (the Plus One Coin app) you are still mining if you have another method to mine such as ccminer or cpuminer using Happy Pool. You know that because those programs would be running with the text command window updating or by logging into HappyPool and looking at the dashboard for the first green indicator called "My Hashrate" or by making note of increases in your earned coins in the lower Account Information box.
