Do you agree USDT is a liquid coin?

If so, their crowdsale of ALT sold for USDT so that would give them a liquid coin they could use to buy BTC or other liquid coins? Also they could have easily sold small portions of the many lightly traded coins now and then for BTC and held those which could add up over time?
