You have successfully navigated my (well, actually GO's) convolutions. The name Moneyscope has already been leveraged for use in the new Business/Money section, so the java app will be renamed if it is indeed dusted off and finally announced and integrated into the overall site. Several of us have posted links to Moneyscope *the java app* over the past months since GO's launch - it is a great little portfolio/sectors/market viewing application that integrates news and customizeable charts into one handy little GUI. It updates itself continuously, though it is working in the 20 minute time lag that until recently has been industry standard. I suspect that the reason that it was never officially released or announced to the public-at-large might be that they didn't know how to weight 'hits' from an automatic self-updating (pull) java app, and just decided to let people keep hitting the 'refresh' button to get more 'official' hits.

The app is (obviously) no longer at www.moneyscope.com where it could be found for the last 3 years - in searching for it I think I understand why they cannibalized the name from the app for their Biz section - it's damned hard to find a good financial URL that hasn't already been claimed!
