Appearantly, they are looking to acquire some companies to achieve growth, and have $1.1bn to spend. I guess TRW would be a good match for them, in their eyes.
Hopefully the partners will resist to accept any low(ish) offer from Guolian if Guolian offers to buy TRW. I guess the likelyhood of the partners to accept, if Guolian offers to buy, goes down if we get the loan. Then Guolian would have to participate in the pre-IPO (although maybe they'll skip the pre-IPO if we get the loan). So it will be Solomons task to hold Guolian at an arms length until TRW is listed then
