Well if that is your criteria then Iran is not our enemy as they helped us in Afghanistan and Bush cold have used that to help thaw relations but no he rejected them and then strengthened them in invading Iraq.

But looking at Russia from just a simplistic way is not to our benefit. Russia is a Kleptocracy and something Trump admires. Russia was moving to democracy until Putin put the hammer down.
