The allegations were serious in a very high profile case. PWC settled the case against the wishes of FHFA. It may not be proof of guilt in a court but definitely not of innocence.
Accounting/auditing firms have to maintain their reputation and this does help them. In the courts of public opinion, it is guilty. This definitely helps FnF shareholders in terms what to look for.
