evolution is nothing more than theory, not proven fact by a long shot

cool, i'm happy to leave it at that. because, after all, nothing in science - beyond observations themselves - is fact. it is all theory. that is the nature of science: theories are those things which fit the fact and have predictive value. newton's laws, quantum mechanics, relativity, evolution - all theories.

however, alternate hypotheses are not necesssarily competing theories. they are either disproven or, if they have no predictive value, they are unscientific.

so as i said: evolution is undisputed scientific theory. any alternatives are in the realm of politics or religion only.
