No, I do not agree with their stand although I most certainly share their respect for the Ten Commandments and their love for the God that gave them. In the New Testament we are told to obey the secular laws we live under unless they expressly go against God's law. In this case, we are told to obey all God's commandments to the best of our ability but we are not commanded to display the Ten Commandments in a courthouse monument in defiance of National law.

Personally, I wish that our society was such that God's commandments were accepted by all and placed in every public building with total acceptance by everyone, but that is not the case. I also find it very sad and ominous that we are driving God further out of our lives and national psyche every year but in this case I think they have picked the wrong battle to make a stand on.

As an aside, only 9 of the Ten Commandments are reiterated in the New Testament - the 10th is to keep the Sabbath, which is not restated since Christians do not keep the Sabbath as such (on the 7th day of the week).
