5 Fun Questions with Olivia Culpo
Olivia Culpo, 25-year-old cellist turned former Miss America, is a fashion-forward influencer who will appear in "Reprisal" with Bruce Willis and "I Feel Pretty" with Amy Schumer. She's still a traditional, fun-loving foodie from a big Italian family. I chatted with her as she threw a holiday fete with Stella Artois to #HostOnetoRemember with her signature cocktail, a bubbly Cidre Sparkler (recipe below), to encourage people to get out of their comfort zones.
How do you host?
I definitely like having people over. Hosting is about bringing people together and planning in advance, having things set up in advance, having someone as your helper and keeping in mind that it doesn't have to be perfect. It should be fun and relaxed for everyone, including yourself.
What's a good or bad holiday memory?
There's always the infamous when something burns which of course can happen a lot so that's as bad as it gets but that's not terrible. You can make something fun out of. It's really important to make sure everyone's having fun. And if you get worked up about things like that, no one's having fun.
You grew up in Rhode Island. Do you have holiday traditions with your family?
We always wear matching pajamas on Christmas Day and we wear them all day and also we do Seven Fishes, big Italian family feast. Everyone comes over — the more the merrier.
Your 2018 goals are health and happiness.
Every year, it's always kind of a goal. New Years is also a time to reflect on the year and think about how lucky you've been thinking about things you can maybe do better.
Modeling was one of your goals before, is acting one now?
I get to do everything these days so it's fun. I don't think you should be tied down to one particular area in your career. I feel like we can do it all these days and that's what you pursue. Just be happy and reach your goals and don't limit yourself by what people say what you can or cannot do.

Homemade syrup:
1.5 cup cranberries
1.5 cup sugar
2 cups water
4 rosemary springs
Bring cranberries and water to a boil and cook until cranberries are soft (approx. 8 minutes) and can be crushed with a spoon. Remove from heat, add sugar and rosemary, stir to dissolve sugar. Let steep for at least one hour, strain and press the juice from the berries. Chill.
To build the cocktail:
.75 oz homemade rosemary cranberry syrup
.25 oz lime juice
1 bottle Stella Artois Cidre
Build cocktail in a tin shaker, add ice and strain into Stella Artois Cidre wine glass. Garnish with rosemary sprig. Super pretty!
