A non-event - The mayor confirmed his presence at the groung breaking imo
That's what mayors and chamber officials do.
MMEX's "groundbreaking" charade, along with free, cheap beer and possibly cocktail weenies will bring out a lot of Pecos County, and Ft. Stockton "dignitaries" and officials.
The Ft. Stockton mayor wasn't elected to root out share-selling scams, or conduct investment due-diligence on scams like MMEX. He was elected to schmooze, hear his constituents concerns, and lead the city council. Mayors all across the country attend ceremonies like groundbreaking events - no big deal. That's a part of what they were elected, and paid to do.
Attending a groundbreaking event, especially a charade designed to help the MMEX share-selling scheme is of no consequence - the mayor's presence is a non-event, neither validating or invalidating anything. Mayors enjoy cheap, free beer as much as anyone else.
MMEX is most likely putting a shovel into the ground to bury their stinking, rotten, smoldering piece of crap "business plan." Go MMEX!
