Soireeing Ksquared,

I can imagine that you're knockin' em' dead in your pale blue dress. In high school, my brother and I had a '56 Chevy that was two-tone -- baby blue and white -- and a real looker. So I know how great you must look at your party <g>.

Justin, awaiting party tales

Thought last night was more of an OUTDR adventure... so I am bringing the story over here. <g>

Perfect weather for an end of the summer party. Good thing I brought my blue "river shirt" (looks kind of like a long john shirt with a henley collar). It came in handy when the sun went down...

There must have been over 60 people there... fabulous food... perfect set up. My friend's husband has a two-bay garage with a real lift in it... he does mechanical work on the side... I believe he is good at it in that one of the things I use to judge ability is the cleanliness and order to the shop... His was immaculate. That was where the food, beer, and other beverages were. <g>

They had tables set up under an awning next to the open doors. To the left of the garage was the gas grill for hamburgers AND...

A REAL CITY HOT DOG CART!!! for "dirty water" hot dogs as we New Yorkers used to call them... So freakin' cool! I LOVED it. <g>

Music was provided by CAT Country 96... an Allentown country music station. Perfect ambiance.

Interesting crowd in that they were a far cry from the overeducated snooty intellectual creative types I used to hang with in the city. Salt of the earth working class. Great fun. I did take my vocabulary down a notch... It can be too off putting before folks get to know me. I am an accomplished social chameleon.

Just as I suspected... I was the only female in a dress. <g> A little summer frock of modest length. My way of standing out with a feminine edge... all those years in theatre. wink

The folks were friendly... introduced themselves... invited me to sit. Even the women shook hands upon introduction. Impresses the hell out of me when folks shake hands. I enjoy that kind of contact. Far more polite than groups I've been in where the participants thinks they are well-bred but talk for hours without knowing each other's names or ever shaking hands with a stranger.

Watched a number of horseshoes games... count on me to sit and watch men at work or play. <ggg> Found it interesting. I now know how it is scored. Looks like fun and great exercise for the arms. My back yard would be a perfect place for a horse shoe pit. Think it would serve me well to learn how to throw right and left-handed.

Met some interesting people whom I bet I will see again. A married couple who are neighbors... the first comment they made was that they've seen me backing my car into the garage... expressed sympathy. My parking area is not the easiest to deal with as I've said before.

Also met another couple who are into motorcycles. Told them about the 100th anniversary celebration at the local Harley dealership... will call later to see if they are going. Still not sure how today is going to go.

All in all a great time... I was relaxed enough to drink in front of folks at the rate of a beer an hour... I was there for 7 hours. wink No problems getting home... one of the reasons I always back into a parking space... makes it so much easier to pull out later.

Dang! My degenerate side lives. HAR!

Enough blathering... I have a ton of chores to do and a gorgeous day outside my window! I LOVE early fall! I am happy again.
