I'm pretty sure he was wealthy by that time in his career owning several successful businesses outside of healthcare. He was adventurous, with a love of travel, outdoors, animals, and mountain life based on pictures displayed on his nurse/admin bulletin boards(some still there). He had a very successful practice and if he could accept new patients, I don't think he needed Obamacare patients. Based on my brief discussions with him and some of the office personnel after he was gone, it sounds like he made a difficult decision.
