Petz, this description covers stock option grants, not restricted shares. Guess you didn't realize the topic of the discussion for the last half dozen posts, but my issue has always been with the issuing of essentially free shares to executives. All it manages to do is dilute the common stock, giving shareholders a smaller piece of the pie. It does, however, allow AMD to compensate their executives without paying cash, thus making the transaction a little less visible to the public.
