"Wanted"? Hardly...

Coopervision, as joint inventor on the patents, owns the rights to any technology jointly developed.

I doubt if Coopervision saw much value in it... they would not have given licensing rights to EPGL for a handshake and a few dollars... and a "go ahead and try to license it"!

Oh, and Coopervision still owns full rights to use it royalty-free if they so choose!
