I don't understand what all the hullabaloo is w.r.t. granting penny stock options. Its identical to giving shares of a company in lieu of cash. Exactly what Microsoft said they would do instead of stock options.
And, as I pointed out, AMD treats these profit-wise as employee compensation, exactly as they should.
