it's funny that they don't bring up natural flood events during the hydrological cycles. like a 100 year flood that would natural significantly alter the meandering river compared to a 5 year or 10 year event. these so called experts only say destruction and the end. yet rivers meander naturally every year for decades always changing sometimes moving 100s of feet in time. building a structure in one spot changes the meandering upstream and downstream and can be calculated and known ahead of time. I don't consider a hydro dam destroying the environment. fresh water, energy production and boating will bring in more tourism than sun bathing next to a river.
