jerry abandoned the well project and the land owner had to fight with them to get them to finish the well. jerry didn't know about the local laws in PA. If he starts a well and doesn't finish it he's liable to pay the land owner for cleaning up every single rock in the lease road so that it was just like it was before they started the project. That would of cost jerry more than finishing the well. And that's the only reason he finished the well instead of just stopping in the idle like he was going to do.
