But Hap the US has killed thousands of Iraqis too--but we aren't keeping track of the number, even now.

We are alienating the population. it may be that our enemies will also alienate the population--they may be as stupid as we are, in which case we actually do have a chance to succeed there. But if they limit their attacks to attacks on US and other "occupying" personnel rather than Iraqis, we may well lose this war despite our clear military superiority.
