When you shop generators,....don't skimp....get at least 5000 watts with a minimum of 5 gallon fuel tank. It is a real plus to be able to back feed the whole house as opposed to feeding individual appliances. When doing this it is very important to pull main breakers so that you don't back feed your outside power supply. Its a good thing to pull your breakers for all power outages anyhow...good practice. You need a 220V outlet in order to be able to back feed the whole house....I use air compressor outlet in garage to feed mine...tnx...Larry
