was 24% annually. Unless somone were betting it go down immediately, 24% interest is a lot of money to pay to hold a short here.

I was never short, but I would have gone short in a heartbeat, if not for the cost. You lose 2% per month as long as it holds flat. Losses magnify if it goes against you for a while.

I'd never go long here, but at that price, shorting is too expensive. If longs were smart, they'd have loaned out their shares. The rebate nearly covering their losses
