Moving Averages and Bullish/Bearish Sentiment

Thank you for the link, Dr. Worm. I remember seeing this article some time back. Like everything else in technical analysis, there is always a difference of opinion on just about every subject.

One of the things kicked around on the various iHub message boards lately is whether there is too much bullishness or bearishness in the market. I could point to the Bull-Bear ratio of the Investors Intelligence data, the 15-day SMA of the Put/Call ratio and the ISEE sentiment data as proof that there is too much bearishness in the market, which supports the prospects of the rally continuing. Yet, I could also give you the low VIX reading, which is a sign of complacency. I realize as traders we don't want everything in agreement, but I'm not sure having data say the complete opposite thing is helpful, either. Honestly, it sometimes wears me down.

Thanks again for checking in.
