RVNC—...that seems a dubious reason for a pre-revenue stock to rally.

How so? The expectation of a near-term financing can put a lot of pressure on a small biotech stock, as can heavy use of an ATM facility. RVNC's 2Q17 financial report yesterday lessens both sources of pressure.
