the artificial gems ruby saphire etc dont have the right color. at a few bucks a carat they are good values. I have bought several of them and they just dont look "right". while they are perfect and have a ruby or saphire color, they are not "right"- the color is off or the cut is bad. sometimes it is the imperfection which has value. if they make white diamonds, then maybe....
