I was a bit rude in my post, which is probably why I was so put off by gskrilla's patronizing condescension. All I was saying is, since it takes 3 days to close, the holders of record on the 15th are those who owned shares on the 12th. Trades taking place on the 13th aren't settled until Monday the 18th--too late to affect the dividend. Which, as far as I could tell, was your original question.
